Accent-Color Wheel Light

Our 9" (23 cm) diameter wheel contains four distinct quadrants, each with violet, indigo, blue, green, yellow, orange and red wedges, in this order. A plastic handle attaches to the center of the wheel, which can be set to spinning with an included cord. At rest, the wheel consists of separate colors. Is this true when it's in motion? Our wheel includes white wedges to increase the light reflected for viewing from across a room. Includes plastic handle, color wheel, cord on spool and Teacher's Guide with sample questions.

Nearly 100 times more efficient than an acetate grating, this special diffraction grating can produce a spectrum equivalent to a conventional grating of about 750 lines per millimeter. It can be seen in the ordinary classroom under typical lighting conditions and is sure to provoke animated discussion.
