Fieldmaster D-Frame Kick Net

This sturdy D-frame net is ideal for sampling in streams. Its lightweight aluminum handle, 36" long, is easy to wield in the field. It features an 18" deep cone section, 11-12" x 12" hoop, and mesh size of 800-1,200 micron. Replacement nets are available.

Fieldmaster Lake Bottom Sampling Kit

Here's everything your class needs to obtain samples from the bottom of a pond or lake for further study in the lab. What makes this kit unique is the reusable, durable equipment provided - no flimsy throw-aways here. The Mighty Grab (TM), for instance, needs no messenger and can be operated either by hand line or with the included sampling pole. The Wash Bucket has 504 micron mesh for sorting samples to the same standards used by the professionals. We include an armored glass thermometer of high accuracy for taking samples of air and water. Even our wide-mouth sample bottles are made of durable polypropylene and are sqaure in shape so they won't tip or spill.

Fieldmaster Mighty Grab

Sampling pole included.
Sample the bottoms of ponds or lakes with this student-sized bethic grab. It can be lowered on a line or closed with a sampling pole in shallow water. Includes cast stainless steel scoops, large hinge pin, 43.5" (110 cm) sampling pole, 20 m polyester line and instructions. Capacity is 1.2 liters.

Fieldmaster Plankton Net

Here is real sampling equipment for the real world in two student-friendly sizes. Mini nets are 5" in diameter and 15" long. Student nets are 8" in diameter and 20" long. All are available in three sizes of durable Nitex nylon, known for the accuracy of its mesh size. The mesh size guarantees you'll know the smallest size plankton you've collected. We also include our patented Mini-Dolphin adaptor for easy attachment of accessories and one 125 mL plastic bottle that attaches to the bottom of the net. Extra bottles are available. Optional hose/pinchcock can be used in place of bottle.

Fieldmaster Stream Sampling Kit

This is a complete and economical kit for obtaining samples from flowing water for further study in the lab. The equipment provided is durable and reusable and does not require extensive training. The D-frame net is lightweight and practical, with a 30-inch handle for easy handling by students. Six (6) are provided, so several groups of students can obtain samples at once. The wide-mouthed sample jars (12) are a generous 500 mL in size for holding your sample till you get back to the lab. Constructed of durable polypropylene, they are square in shape so they won't tip or spill. Our turbidity tube is student-sized at 60 cm in length and functions like a miniature secchi disk to measure water clarity. We also provide one (1) armored glass thermometer of high accuracy for taking the relevant temperatures of air and water; and six (6) 500 mL plastic wash bottles for rinsing down equipment in the field.

Mini-Surber, 500 ?

A surber is a net placed on the bottom of shallow streams to sample for benthic invertebrates quantitatively. We're proud to offer a scaled-down version perfect for schools. With stainless steel frame, 500 micron Nitex net and taffeta wings, it stands 6" high, has an 11" long net and a sampling area of 1/4 square foot.

623-6515 Ammonia Nitrogen Kit For fresh or salt water, this Nessler Method kit contains octa-slide and enough reagent for 50 tests. Range is 0.2 - 3.0 (0.2, 0.4, 0.6, 0.8, 1.0, 1.5, 2.0, 3.0) ppm NH3-N, which is frequently used in aquaculture.

Thermal & Sewage Pollution Kit

Thermometer, Armored Glass

Armored glass thermometers are totally immersible. Accurate to +/- 1%, spirit filled and 5-3/4" long. Available in Fahrenheit (-40 to +160?F) and Celsius (-10 to +100?C) models.

Turbidity Tube

Measure turbidity in streams where a Secchi disk cannot be used. Clear polycarbonate tube (in 2 lengths) has a 4.5 cm diameter Secchi disk design on the bottom, attached to a rubber stopper that removes for cleaning. Drain the tube with hose and finger clamp. Longer length meets requirements of GLOBE. Available in 60 cm and 120 cm.

Turkey Baster

Good for collecting bottom organisms in the field or for transferring organisms for study in the lab. Clear plastic tube is marked in mL and ounces and has a capacity of 30 mL. Cleaning brush is included.
